Guest Services Shift Manager

Reporting to the Guest Service Manager (GSM) and Deputy Guest Service Manager (DGSM) the Guest Services Shift Manager is responsible for all Cleaning/Security site staff.
Rate of pay: £9.00 per hour
Location: Market Place Bolton
Hours of work: 45 hours per week predominantly evenings and weekends although will be a mixture due to business needs.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Shift Manager provides staff, tenants and customers with a single point of contact for all queries and problems in the Centre. As well as managing the team of cleaners and security (including CCTV Controllers) The Shift Manager will work closely with the Management team to ensure the service we deliver is second to none.
The Shift Manager is required to carry out daily patrols to monitor and direct cleaning and security where needed to provide the service to the client. Report any issues, manage and report any issues/incidents. Required to go through SIA training.
The Shift Manager`s role requires good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, deal with issues as they arise. A flexible approach is necessary to deal with a variety of tasks and situations in a fast paced customer focused environment. Must be flexible and able to do overtime to cover holidays and sickness.

Daily duties:
• First point of contact for customer and tenant enquiries and complaints.
• Site patrols identifying H&S, cleaning, maintenance and security issues.
• Monitoring and supervising cleaning and security teams when on shift.
• Daily Shift Manager reporting to the GSM/DGSM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for cleaning and security services
• Daily checks of both cleaning and security to ensure standards are being met.
• Liaise with GSM/DGSM
• Undertake Centre Shift Manager responsibilities.
• Drive performance

IDEAL COMPETENCIES:
Good experience of working within a customer facing environment is a requirement for this position along with Supervisory/Management skills. Specific competencies within this role include the following:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Minimum 2 years’ experience at Supervisory/Management level
• Willing to attend training for SIA Licence
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Flexibility
• Smart appearance

They’re recruiting 12 young people for a 12 week work experience and training programme which will result in you working to develop a ‘pop up’ restaurant that you and other young people run yourselves from The Chef’s Quarter at The Vaults, Market Place Shopping Centre.

Training delivered in Bolton, Bury and North Manchester.

Travel costs are paid along with Bursary if eligible.
