If you’ve visited Market Place in the last week, the chances are you now have a new favourite dessert spot… Creams luxury tearoom has just opened on the ground floor and we thought we’d catch up with manager, Lucy Forshaw to find out what it’s like to work there.
What is your role at Creams British Luxury?
I am the current manager in Market Place, Bolton.
How did you get the job?
I applied through the ‘Indeed’ website. I had to complete a two-stage interview on the telephone and face to face.
What’s it like working in Market Place?
It’s very enjoyable. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s a nice, welcoming place to work and I like how busy it is with customers. And the variation of shops is very good!
What is your favourite part of the day?
It would definitely be dinner time. Approximately 12pm until 2pm as we get very busy and there are lots of customers.
Is there anything you dislike about the job?
Nope! I love it all!
Your favourite item on the Creams menu?
I have to say it’s the lemon pepper chicken panini. A close second is the Nutella freak shake – being a chocolate lover it hits every spot.
Ever had a baking disaster?
If you were having a scone, would you do cream then jam, or jam then cream?
I would have jam and then cream, but I’d have extra clotted cream as it’s delicious!
Favourite thing to do in Bolton (besides shop, eat and watch movies at Market Place!)?
I like to go to the fitness centre.
Will there be any offers or promotions available in the coming weeks, or anything you’d like to let your customers know about?
We’re planning a few promotions so customers should definitely keep their eyes peeled. We are doing a freak shake competition in the coming week to win a pair of cinema tickets, large refillable drink and large popcorn worth around £20. We will also be doing a ‘Name the teddy’ challenge.
