Missing your Costa fix? Chill out!

If you’ve been to the likes of Costa or Starbucks at Market Place this summer, you’ll know that it’s the go-to place for perfectly cool, deliciously refreshing and oh-so-tempting) iced drinks – a glorious addition to a hot summer day. Don’t mind if we do…

But what if you’re stuck at home or work, and missing some of that sweet, summery magic? Don’t panic – we’ll tide you over until your next Frappuccino fix! Iced tea and iced coffee are a doddle to make at home or work when you’re not near your favourite coffee shop. Here’s how:

iced-teaYummy Iced Tea

You will need:

  • 4 cups of boiling water
  • 2 teabags
  • 1 heat-proof pitcher
  • 6 cups of ice cubes
  • A little sugar, or any other flavour enhancer –
    this is up to you!

 

Method:
Put the teabags in the heat-proof pitcher and pour on the boiling water
Leave for 3-5 minutes
Remove the teabags
Sweeten to taste by adding a little sugar, or alternative sweetener
Stir in the ice cubes until melted
Here you can get creative – freshly cut lemon slices add citrus zing, or fruit purees make a delicious addition!
Keep refrigerated, and enjoy!

Scrummy Iced Coffee

You will need:

  • A blender
  • 200ml strong black coffee
  • 50ml milk
  • 2-3 handfuls of ice
  • Maple syrup or sugar – optional

 

Method:
Allow the coffee to go completely cold, then pour into a blender
Add the milk, ice and maple syrup or sugar
Blend until smooth and foamy, then pour into tall glasses!

Try them once and you’ll be hooked – enjoy!
