We may have been thoroughly spoilt with the run of bank Holidays this year – with Easter falling in the middle of April, blessing us with not one but two extra days to our weekend. Shortly followed by the Mayday holiday which conveniently landed on May 1st… but who are we to grumble when presented with another three-day weekend at the end of May?!
At this point you might be filled with a multitude of emotions from euphoria to sheer dread. But fear not ‘cos Market Place has your bank holiday fun covered.
MAKE TIME FOR A MOVIE
Timed perfectly for the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge, fans might find themselves kicking off the bank holiday weekend at The Light Cinema. The 5th film in the Pirates franchise enjoys its first screening on Friday 26th May. With the eye-candy-ometer maxed out with Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem and Brenton Thwaites, not forgetting Kaya Scodelario plus the usual mix of comedy and adventure we’ve come to expect, we’re seriously excited!
If you’ve got the kids in tow then The Red Turtle (also released on Friday 26th May) makes the perfect movie for the whole family. Bought to you by the makers of Spirited Away, Ponyo and The Wind Rises, the film is a one of a kind animated tale that should be top of the list for keeping the little ones amused… for an hour or two at least…
DISCOVER A REVIVED AMAZONIAN ADVENTURE
If you haven’t been to Bolton’s most exciting indoor adventure play centre in a while, you might be surprised to discover, Amazonia has had a bit of a make-over.
With a brand new soft play area for 2-4 year olds, they’ve now got more space to let of steam, while the older adventurers climb and crawl their way through their Amazonian adventure. With a ride on the steam train included in the price of entry and the opportunity to enjoy a round of jungle-themed crazy golf and an ice cream afterwards, your whole tribe are sure to be truly satisfied.
