Market Place, Bolton, is delighted to announce that customers now have more ways to pay for their stay
in the centre’s car park. The new pay stations will allow for a more convenient method of payment and a
smoother process for exiting the car park.
Customers are still able to pay via cash, but now also have the option of credit card and contactless
payment, as well as Apple and Android pay. What’s more, each level of the centre will have a pay station
in place, making it safer and simpler for customers to pay.
The new system is camera-based, matching customers’ car registrations to their ticket. On payment, it
signals to the cameras at the exit barriers to the lift, enabling a much swifter exit process. There is also a
function to help people who lose or damage their ticket, to help ease a potentially stressful situation.
Parking at Market Place is free for the first 60 minutes and after 5pm, and just £1 for 1 to 2 1/2 hours, £2 for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours and £4 for 3 1/2 hours or more. Customers of The Light cinema can also get their parking tickets validated to park for free when they see a film.
Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place says, “We’re excited to be able to get the new car
parking systems into place, to provide our customers with more choice on how they pay. We’re confident
it will make for an easier and more relaxed parking experience!”
