Carrs Pasties won the Food and Drink Award at Insider Magazine’s Made in the North West Awards on Thursday 10 May 2018.
The awards took place at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester and were attended by companies such as Siemans, Packaging Automation and Recycling Lives. Carrs Pasties were up against Manchester Gin, Lovingly Artisan and Barburrito in the Food and Drink category.
Matt Carr, commercial director at Carrs Pasties said:
“Given the quality of the competition – Lovingly Artisan, Barburrito and Manchester Gin – we were very happy to be simply nominated for a prestigious Insider Made in the North West award. It gives us the confidence to stretch our wings a bit more into Manchester and the North West region, hopefully making the good people of Bolton proud wherever we go.”
The winners of each category will automatically be entered in to the Made in the UK awards later this summer which celebrates the best of British manufacturing.
Carrs Pasties previously won Family Business of the Year at the Bolton and Bury Business Awards in 2014 and this is the first awards they have entered since.
The family business is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The business began back in 1938 with pasties being made in the back of the original shop on Halliwell Road and in 2017 the company opened their brand-new bakery shop on Manchester Road.
Carrs Pasties will be celebrating their 80th anniversary throughout the year.
