2.30pm every Wednesday until 13th November
If you spend a lot of your daily life sat in a chair, whether at work or at home, it’s easy to forget to get up from time to time to have a stretch and move around. With that comes the concern of a decline in mobility, which often goes unnoticed until the aches and pains set in or an obvious weakness develops.
The good news is that chair yoga offers a great solution, with a series of movements to increase strength balance and relaxation from the comfort of your chair.
Every Wednesday, we’ll be joined by the lovely Lucy, who will help you learn the art of chair yoga and stay mobile for longer.
Each session, will take place in the unit next to Greggs on the ground floor of the centre at 2.30pm and will start with some gentle warming up movements, moving on to stretching and easing the muscles and joints in the back, shoulders, legs, and arms. This will be followed by some gentle toning work and end with a deep relaxation to completely relax body and mind.
This programme will focus on relaxation and well-being with some simple techniques which you can practice at home. The result will be an increase in strength, balance, and relaxation in body and mind.
Each session is open to all ages and will be adapted to suit the group and you’re welcome to come to as many or few sessions as you choose.
