We’re set to make one Sunday more relaxing than most, with a day focused on relaxation, health and wellbeing.
Join us from 11am – 5pm on Sunday 29th September for ‘Self-Care Sunday’ which will see Market Place come alive with a series of FREE, fun activities dedicated to creating a healthy body, mind and soul. These include food sampling, cooking demos, nutrition talks, Q&A sessions, yoga, massages, beauty treatments and mindfulness activities as well as special offers in a number of stores.
On the day, the team from Basic Kneads will be hosting some healthy cooking demos to showcase some easy-cook recipes that you can follow in your own kitchen.
There will be two nutrition workshops where a qualified nutritionist will talk you through the basics of healthy eating. One workshop will be focused on promoting gut health, while the other on promoting mental wellbeing.
Yoga sessions will see you learning techniques to combat anxiety as well as introducing ‘chair yoga’ – some easy techniques tailored to alleviate the aches and pains of desk-based work.
If you’re wanting to adopt a ‘mind over matter’ outlook on life, an affirmation workshop will see you learning powerful tools to help focus the mind and help you work towards improving both your body and mind.
Relax kids will give parents the know-how to help your children become more resilient and give you tools and techniques to manage their emotional and mental health. Using research-based mindfulness and relaxation practices, alongside values and positive psychology they help to support children’s emotional health and wellbeing.
There will be an opportunity for you to discover the importance of meditation in a lovely, relaxing journey that leaves you feeling empowered, peaceful and content in our meditation session.
United Minds’ founder and therapist, Lotte Mikkelsen will host a talk about the therapeutic benefits of happiness and will look at how we can incorporate a little more laughter in our lives.
You can also enjoy free Indian head and shoulder massages, learn the art of colouring therapy and enjoy retailer demonstrations, samples and discounts throughout the day.
This fun, educational and inclusive event builds on our dedication to tackling the growing concern of mental health in the community and offering a network of support to those who need it, and
information to those who want to learn more.
