The competition is open to all school pupils and teachers of the Bolton, Greater Manchester District. There is no minimum or maximum age limit, unless specified late within the competition entry information. However, entries must be made by a school teacher elective, to ensure that all pupils have permissions from their guardian(s).

The competition is open to all school and teacher groups and choirs. However to be considered, the entry must be submitted by a registered school teacher elective, from a valid and registered school email address.

Video submission entries will open on Monday 2nd November 2020 at 10am and close at 10am on Monday 30th November 2020. We advise that you submit your entry early to avoid disappointment.

Within your email, you must include the school’s name/group name, age group, names of individuals, school contacts and song choice. By sending your submission you are agreeing that Market Place and affiliated parties are GDPR cleared and have the school’s consent to broadcast your submission to the public via social media channels, YouTube and within the shopping centre, at our discretion.

If your individual entry is to contain a recorded song/performance, then please remember that you must seek permission to use copyrighted tracks by emailing the publisher for authorisations. In submitting, you accept sole liability for the misuse of copyrighted assets.

The prize awarded is up to £500 in Music vouchers *prize money donated by Trust Music to be spent on sheet music, musical instruments or music projects only*. This prize is not redeemable for cash or transferable/refundable. The prize must be collected within 56 days of winners announcement.

A public vote will become live on 7th December 2020 and close 14th December 2020. Voting will take place via this website. Trust Music will narrow down all entrants to a final 20 which will go to a public vote. The public will be able to view the final 20 and vote for the one group they wish to win. In the event of a tie, Judges Decisions will be final and binding.

Schools and winner(s) will be notified week commencing 14th December. A final assembly and prize presentation will commence Christmas Week within the Market Place Centre, (all dependant on the current government-enforced restrictions). This is not mandatory, merely an invitation to showcase the winners, not an entry condition. Alternative prize collections can be agreed between the winning party and competition host, Market Place.

The finalist(s) will be invited on stage to collect the prize, and the winning school video will be played throughout the retail Christmas period on the large screens in the centre, and the finalist will be invited to sing live in the centre over the weekend and week before Christmas, by arrangement. The venue for the prize ceremony is Market Place Shopping Centre, Knowsley Street, Bolton, BL1 2AL.

Entrants/Finalist may be asked to be included within press releases/further social media content. Through submitting an entry, you agree to the use of PR related materials being produced from your entries. You also agree Market Place Centre and third parties the use of your videos if they so wish to edit them for the production of social media and PR assets.

These terms and conditions apply to competitions ran by Bolton Market Place or a third party on Market Place’s behalf, including Portfolio and Trust Music.

By entering a competition, entrants accept these terms and conditions together with any instructions presented to the entrant via email, social media or any other way.

Market Place Shopping Centre and third parties may cancel or amend this competition at any time, including competition information and prizes, through mutual decision or due to ongoing government-enforced restrictions and regulations.
