Bolton’s one and only Food and Drink Festival is back for another year this August bank holiday, and this time at Market Place, we’re celebrating like never before!
From 25th – 28th August, we will be hosting four days of Foodie Fun to pay homage to our Victorian heritage. The long weekend will be packed full of free events and activities that will be great fun for all the family – expect freebies, Victorian dress, fabulous displays and special offers galore.
Feast your eyes on an impressive 25 foot loaf (a great opportunity for a selfie!), a solid chocolate bust of Queen Victoria created by an expert chocolatier and a delectable hog roast with a twist – it’s actually cake!
A gaggle of Victorian characters will be serving delicious treats, including ‘penny licks’, mini pasties (made by the experts at Carrs), and traditional items like fresh scones (thanks to Caffè Dolce), served from giant potato sacks – de-lish!
Kids are invited to join a free cake personalisation class, held by Little Rascals kids club, and adults will enjoy an exclusive charity book signing! There’ll also be a photographer on site, ready to turn your family into a Victorian-themed masterpiece.
And what better way to celebrate our heritage than with a trip to our very own trendy Victorian Vaults? Enjoy a delicious meal under original vaulted ceilings, surrounded by atmospheric exposed brickwork – much of the architecture here dates right back to 1855! And with many of the restaurants offering free food samples as well as special offers throughout the weekend, there’s no need to go hungry!
