The Giant Crumpet Show!

What’s more appealing than a soothing cup of tea and a warm toasted crumpet, on a cold winter’s day? Obviously, the answer is Warburtons’ brand new GIANT crumpets!

This Christmas, Warburtons – a local Bolton brand and national family favourite bakery – launched their giant crumpets with a little help from their friends, The Muppets. The famous fuzzy cast, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and Fozzie, help to promote the new baked goods by lending their marketing brains and musical talents to ‘The Giant Crumpet Show’.

Bean Bunny tells Pepe The King Prawn his favorite crumpet toppings on the set of the latest ad from Warburtons, which sees the loveable Muppets gang team up with the family bakers to launch the first ever Giant Crumpets! Deliciously thick and fluffy and designed to fit perfectly inside your toaster, Giant Crumpets are a great treat for any time of day. The best just got bigger!   The all-singing, all-dancing TV ad premieres tonight, during the first ad break of X Factor on ITV.

Unlike many of the Christmas adverts this year which have us reaching for a tearful tissue, Warburtons have brought back the magic of Christmas with an upbeat and humorous campaign, which spreads Christmas cheer far and wide. The fun festive advert topped Marketing Week’s chart as the ‘most likely’ Christmas ad to result in a purchase, which is unsurprising because crumpets have never seemed so fun! We reckon there should be a category for ‘catchiest tune’, because we’ve been humming this rendition of the classic The Muppets theme song all day.

Kermit and friends show you how to tuck into your giant crumpets, as they take a sip from their I [Heart] Bolton mugs. (We admit that these mugs were high up on our Christmas wish-list, until Warburtons confirmed that they were made exclusively in puppet size for the commercial).

If you haven’t yet seen or heard about ‘The Giant Crumpet Show’, take a peek whilst we pop to the shop to buy a packet, because we have never wanted to munch on anything more. We dare you not to tap your foot along to the infectious beat…

It’s time to grab a toaster, it’s time to take a bite…
